A little back story

June 5th, 2020

Greg Glassman, Owner, and CEO of CrossFit responded to an affiliate owner's email, asking why he had stayed silent in regards to the Black Lives Matter movement. In his response, he gaslighted and bullied the owner. His response was truly despicable and in doing so he showed the world his true colors. Click here to see the email

June 8th, 2020

Greg Glassman tweets "Floyd-19" in response to a post from the Institute for Health and Metrics Evaluation. This resulted in many athletes and owners speaking out against the creator and CEO of CrossFit. The most notable from The Morning Chalk Up article by Katrin Davidsdotter in this article.

After these two events, CrossFit affiliate owners and CrossFit Games athletes alike headed to social media to speak out against Greg Glassman's actions. Within 48 hours Over 1,500 affiliate owners disaffiliated and Games athletes vowed not to attend the 2020 games unless major changes were made. The biggest being the removal of the CEO/Owner requiring him to sell his company.

June 9th, 2020

Greg Glass steps down as CEO and names CrossFit Games Coordinator Dave Castro as his successor.

June 12, 2020

Previous employees began to speak up about how "Glassman fostered Sexist culture at HQ". Most notably was an Andy Stumpf podcast about his time working for HQ.

June 24, 2020

Illini CrossFit receives this email from CrossFit HQ stating the Greg Glassman has sold CrossFit. The voices of the CrossFit community were heard loud and clear, Greg Glassman could no longer benefit from our hard work.
